How often should I get my gutters cleaned?
As often as they need it! Clean gutters prevent water damage to your home, and most people find it extremely cost effective. Most people get their gutters cleaned twice per year, but depending on the home and the tree coverage, some people get them cleaned as often as four times per year.
What type of gutter guards do you recommend?
Quite simply, none. Gutter guards are extremely expensive, none of them work as flawlessly as they promote, and they all still require maintenance.
My mom lives in Michigan and she recently spent more than $5,000 on gutter guards for her house. At that price, she could have flown me across the country twice a year for 10 consecutive years to clean her gutters.
